Don't Get Stuck

This is the title of a devotional by Sarah Young. She says, "When things are not going your way, don't panic-accept the situation. Feeling sorry for yourself can easily spill over into feelings of resentment and anger. That can cause you to push away from me."

She has a point. When we shift our focus on ourselves, we limit ourselves to the hope and abundant blessings that only God can give to us.

1Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all our care upon him; for he careth for you."

We need to repent when we worry, recognizing that it is a going against everything the Bible says.

I like how Morris Cerrulo expands on this verse:

We need to KNOW that Jesus wants us to cast all our cares upon Him (James 1:6-8) and we can do so with the assurance that...
we KNOW "...the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance" (Psalm 94:14), and ...
we KNOW that God will deliver us out of Satan's grasp (Psalm 91:3)
and we KNOW that God's eyes are upon us...that He is just looking for an opportunity to show Himself strong on our behalf (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Satan tempts us with worry and fear. However, "...greater is He that is in you, than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Armed in this way, the sharp two-edged sword of the Word, the negative forces of worry and anxiety will be defeated in any and every circumstance, and we can.... and WILL be VICTORIOUS!
